John and Jayne Glynn lost their son Gavin to cancer in 2014. Spurred by their own experience of the gross cost of caring for a sick child, The Gavin Glynn Foundation seeks to help families with transportation, accommodation, and expenses when travelling overseas in search of treatment. Their goal is to “take the financial burden and stress away from the families so they can focus all their time on their child and family.”
Our Travel company have worked with the Glynns for the past three years sourcing flights for families traveling around the world. Our own Cogs & Marvel team have worked with the foundation to organise fundraiser events, most recently Strictly from the Movies and Lip Sync Battle, each performed to sell out audiences at the Parkview Hotel, Newtownmountkennedy. On a smaller scale, last year our team ran bake sales, marathons, and Christmas jumper days to raise money for the foundation.
