Episode 2: Mirit Cohen (Adobe)

Mirit Cohen, Global Workplace Experience Programs Manager at Adobe

It’s fitting that we kick off our thought leadership conversations around ‘future of work’ and brand experience design with Mirit Cohen from Adobe, a company widely regarded as one of the best places to work on the planet. In our strategic creative work together, and in these conversations, it’s easy to see why. Adobe understands that we all live in the experience economy, which is not just a marketing catchphrase, but a belief that directs the employee experience at the company.

In this episode of CMLabs, we’ll hear select soundbites from Mirit that underpin her philosophy about the importance of experience design and its very real effects on company performance, human potential, brand innovation, employee wellbeing, and indeed, the bottom line.

As Mirit explains, companies have long sought to drive as much productivity in the workforce as possible. However, a shifting mindset in Silicon Valley brought a hard truth to light: productivity without innovation isn’t a competitive advantage. In order to drive innovation, employees need to be creatively inspired with the opportunity to cross pollinate ideas with their peers. In order for those things to happen, companies need to invest in an employee experience that encourages casual collisions and creative thinking. The reality is that experience design is strategic and results-driven. All too many brands still imagine the word “experiential” to mean something “nice to have” not recognizing that the employee experience—and by that we mean the entire ecosystem of touchpoints and the experiential journey of work—is critical to innovation, competitive employee retention, and bottom line performance. Experience, it turns out, is a key differentiator among top performing companies as ranked by Fortune and Forbes.

Watch Mirit’s soundbites to hear more about how she and her colleagues strategically and intentionally shape employee experiences and events to optimize innovation, and human happiness.
