It was dim in Dublin, bracing for a second disappointing St Patrick’s Day in lockdown. We missed being together at the pub, the comradery, the laughter. So we set out to bring the pub to everyone who, like us, felt second-homesick.

The sound of craic and community
Sounds of the Pub is an interactive, online audio experience that let users control seven custom-made sliders mapped to some of the most recognisable Irish pub sounds, from a crackling fireplace, pub chatter, and a trad session to the familiar tones of clinking glassware and rain on the windows.
Of course, it needed a proper Irish look too, so our Dublin design team developed a hand-drawn visual identity that modernised pub signage typography. The warm imagery evoked a welcoming, cosy space, and connected visually to the audio UI.
IMPACT
Within 48 hours after launch, the site had broken 300,000 page views from 50,000 unique visitors on nearly every continent.

Half a million pub mates
In the first 24 hours alone, as the site spread across social channels, forums, and mobile apps, it reached over 50,000 unique visitors. 48 hours after launch, the site had broken 300,000 page views across nearly every continent. The launch of the website was reported in major newspapers as far afield as the US and China, with strong social engagement – and, we hope, just as many smiles. Aww.
